Campaign Cards: Spring 2007
D&D Campaigns

Forged with the promise of spring, the RPGA magewrights fired produced the second set of Campaign Cards for the Eberron campaign, Xen'drik Expeditions. The five cards in this set shipped out as part of the 2007 D&D Rewards spring mailing. Be sure to enroll in D&D Rewards and receive your share of the bounty.

Blinded by the Light Set 2 Card 1: General

“I know what darkness most fears. It isn’t swords or spells, steel or song. It’s faith - pure, unyielding faith.”
- Milinar Krovec, Exorcist of the Silver Flame

Your faith allows you to unleash the pure power of the Light to your enemies, blinding and burning them with holy radiance.

Benefit: Spend this card, one use of Blessing of the Light, and one other action point to enhance one of your turning attempts or use of Holy Smite. You may add the result of the action point roll to your turning check or attack roll when using a smite attack and, if the attempt or attack is successful, all affected targets suffer additional holy damage equal to your Wisdom and Charisma modifiers combined and must make a Will save or be blinded for 1d4 rounds. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 13 + your Charisma modifier.

Dragon's Breath Scholar Set 2 Card 2: General

“When mortals speak of power, they speak of dragons.”
- Jlorka, Dragon Prophet

Your investigations into the lore and anatomy of dragons has given you the ability to tap into their powers.

Benefit: Spend this card and one other action point to apply any one of the following feats to your breath weapon: Clinging Breath, Enlarge Breath, Heighten Breath, Quicken Breath, or Recover Breath. You must still wait longer before you can use your breath weapon again, if appropriate, as per the text of the feat used in conjunction with the card. This card and one other action point can also be spent before you attempt a Reflex saving throw against a breath weapon. If you make the save you avoid all damage, as per the evasion special ability.

One With Darkness Set 2 Card 3: General

“The night holds no mysteries for my blade.”
- Oruc Axebearer, Child of Xoriat barbarian

You are capable of making all out attacks that hit even hard to see foes.

Benefit: When attacking a creature that has concealment or total concealment, you may take a – 4 penalty to your AC in order to re-roll any failed miss chance roll made during the round this card is spent. If you spend an additional action point when you spend this card, you do not suffer the –4 penalty to AC.

Presence of Command Set 2 Card 4: General

“Have faith in your brothers ... and victory is certain.”
- Pilgrim, Company Commander, Six Paths Battalion

Prerequisites: Blackwheel Company, Charisma 13 or higher.

Benefit: Your commanding presence and Company training allow you to issue a powerful command to an ally. When spending this card, choose one other Blackwheel Company member and choose either their next attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. That ally gains a bonus equal the total number of Blackwheel Company members in the party to that roll. Unconscious, stunned, helpless, sleeping, non-present, or dead party members do not count toward this total.

Tome of Corruption Set 2 Card 5: Item

“I laid my torch to foul pages of the necromancer’s tome and I swear I heard it scream.”
- Serathane Brightborn, Paladin of the Sovereign Host

You were handed this disturbing tome by an androgynous youth with wings of white feathers while walking the late-night streets of Stormreach. After looking up from the book, the angel was gone. Whatever secrets the tome may hold, they are yours to unearth.

Benefit: You may spend this card to intone a blasphemous passage from the Tome of Corruption. Intoning these words is a standard action. All who hear the words you utter, including yourself, must make a Will saving throw or take 1d4 points of Charisma damage. The DC for this saving throw is equal to 10 + 1/2 your level + your Cha modifier. If you are evil, you gain a +2 to saving throw to resist your own corrupt speech.
It is rumored that the tome has more latent secrets hidden within its dusty pages that may only be made manifest when the book is in close proximity to certain areas, actions, or events connected with the draconic Prophecy. You may only have one Tome of Corruption in your stack.
