Worldwide D&D Game Day: Nov 5th

Biggest one-day roleplaying event ever to take place Nov. 5th in gaming and hobby stores around the globe.

Geek is chic -- and what could be more chic than a global party celebrating the popularity of counter-culture icon Dungeons & Dragons? On Saturday, November 5, 2005, Wizards of the Coast will sponsor Worldwide D&D Game Day in hundreds of select hobby and toy stores around the globe. Experienced players and newcomers will gather during this 24-hour period to flex their imaginations and have fun playing the classic roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons. Last year more than 25,000 gamers came out to play D&D on Game Day, and this year Wizards of the Coast anticipates an even greater turnout.

“We experienced an overwhelming turnout for Worldwide D&D Game Day in 2004, thanks to the loyalty of our fans and their dedication to the game,” said Charles Ryan, Brand Manager for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast. “The ranks of D&D players continue to swell, and we’re expecting this year’s Game Day to be the biggest and most exciting event in the game’s 31-year history.”

Participating game stores around the world, listed at www.dndgameday.com, will present adventures packed with fiendish monsters to slay, diabolical traps to overcome, and heroic stories to be boasted. Players can bring a band of friends to adventure with or plan to meet some new gaming buddies. Players can also earn points when they sign up for D&D Rewards and the Roleplaying Game Association (RPGA). Additionally, while supplies last, each player will receive a free Worldwide D&D Game Day souvenir to add to their treasure trove. Souvenirs include D&D Miniatures and a special D&D Campaign Card. Players will need to bring a pen or pencil, paper and a set of dice that includes 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 20-sided dice.
