If you have specific questions regarding the Living Greyhawk campaign, please post your questions on the official Living Greyhawk message board forum, located on the Wizards community boards.

All other questions regarding Dungeons & Dragons or the RPGA should be submitted though our customer service Knowledge Base, where you can reach our staff, or your question may already be answered online. Please note that answers received through these channels are considered merely advisory until they appear in the official FAQ or Errata. All references to the three Dungeons & Dragons core rulebooks refer to the version 3.5.

This issue addresses Campaign Cards, being draconic, and general questions.

Q: Does a cohort have its own stack of Campaign Cards?

A: No. Only PCs get a stack of campaign cards.

Q: Can my cohort use Campaign Cards from my stack?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I use a Campaign Card in my stack to create a cohort that takes advantage of a character creation Campaign Card?

A: Yes. For example, if you want to have a kobold cohort, you can use a Sojourner from the Mist Kingdom Campaign Card to do so; however, you may only have one character creation Campaign Card in your stack, so you may not play a Mist Kingdom kobold PC with a Mist Kingdoms kobold cohort.

Q: Can a Mist Kingdom kobold that is reincarnated as a kobold continue play as a PC?

A: Yes.

Q: Can a non-kobold that is reincarnated as a kobold continue play as a PC if they add Sojourner from the Mist Kingdom to their stack of Campaign Cards?

A: No. Character creation Campaign Cards can only be used during character creation; you cannot add them to your stack later.

Q: Can I create a new, non-kobold character and use the Sojourner from the Mist Kingdom Campaign Card to gain the other access listed on the card?

A: No. The benefits listed on the card can only be used by kobolds created via the card.

Q: Sojourner from the Mist Kingdom indicates that the kobold’s draconic heritage must be either a metallic or mist dragon. Does this also limit my options regarding feats or prestige classes related to dragons?

A: Yes. Any rules option selected by a Mist Kingdom kobold that is related to dragons must be based upon a metallic, mist, or Greyhawk dragon.

Q: Mist and Greyhawk dragons are not listed on the table on page 103 of Races of the Dragon. How do I select those options?

A: For the purposes of Living Greyhawk only, add the following two entries to the table on page 103 of Races of the Dragon:

Dragon Kind Descriptor or Subschool Class Skill Spells Known
Mist Fire Concentration fog cloud, control water (4th), obscuring mist
Greyhawk Acid Diplomacy Sleep, suggestion, charm person

Q: Can mist or Greyhawk dragon be selected for the dragon disciple prestige class?

A: Yes. Both are now Open choices for dragon disciple. For the purposes of Living Greyhawk, mist dragons require an alignment of Neutral or Neutral Good and have a cone of steam (fire) as their breath weapon; Greyhawk dragons require an alignment of Lawful Neutral or Lawful Good and have a cone of corrosive gas (acid) as their breath weapon.

Q: What are the rules in Living Greyhawk for undergoing the Draconic Rite of Passage?

A: At the end of any adventure, if you have access to the Draconic Rite of Passage and meet the prerequisites, you may pay 2 TUs and 100 gp to attempt the Draconic Rite of Passage. Attempt a DC 10 Concentration check. If you succeed, you permanently lose 1 hit point and gain the benefits of the Draconic Rite of Passage, as spelled out in Races of the Dragon page 43. If you fail, you may attempt the Draconic Rite of Passage again after a future adventure by spending another 2 TUs and 100 gp.

Q: Do Mist Kingdom kobolds gain Common as an automatic language?

A: No.

Q: Can a former Bright Lands PC move back to the Bright Lands after changing their home region?

A: No. Once you change your home region from the Bright Lands, you cannot change it back to the Bright Lands.

Q: If an item has an attunement period requirement, such as the ring of sustenance, how does that work in Living Greyhawk?

A: At the beginning of any adventure, you are assumed to have met the attunement period for anything with a requirement of one week or less. If you remove the item during the adventure, normal rules apply.

Q: How many tricks do warhorses and riding dogs begin with?

A: Six. The core rules (see the Handle Animal skill, Player’s Handbook, page 75) specify that warhorses and riding dogs are already trained with the Combat Riding package, which includes attack, come, defend, down, guard, and heel. The LGCS rules are intended to provide a limited amount of free training to animals that would otherwise begin play untrained; the LGCS rules do not override the core rules in this case. The two free tricks that a warhorse or riding dog would be allowed by the LGCS rules may be used to replace any two tricks within the Combat Riding package with other tricks that are Open to that PC.

Q: If I have access to a prestige class that is not normally Open, take one or more levels in that prestige class, then lose access to that prestige class, can I continue taking levels in the prestige class?

A: No. You may keep the levels you have already taken, but you cannot take more levels until you regain access.
